Saturday’s EPL Results

Saturday’s EPL Results: Liverpool started extremely positively and got off to a good start as Luis Suarez made up for his missed penalty and delivered a deft flick off a superb free kick from new signing Charlie Adam. However it was the same old Liverpool in the second half as they dropped off the intensity, looked frail at the back and allowed the dangerous Seb Larsson to volley home an extraordinary goal to earn Sunderland a point.

Arsenal travelled to St James’ Park, a setting that produced one of the most incredible matches in the history of the Premier League last season. Captain Fabregas and Nasri were left out and Jack Wilshere was injured leaving Arsenal’s midfielder severely below par, and that’s how they performed. In one of the worst performances offensively Arsenal have produced in the Arsene Wenger period they were unable to generate any consistent pressure and produce quality chances, allowing Newcastle to earn a point. The game was overshadowed by a few controversial moments, of course all involving Joey Barton, a player who’s hugely negative reputation as a human being is an understatement and it was truly unbelievable as to how he remained on the field. The final score was 0-0.

The other games saw Wolves beat Blackburn 2-1, Fulham and Aston Villa drew 0-0, QPR were embarrassed 4-0 by Bolton and Norwich drew 1-1 with Wigan.
